- Medical Career & Expertise: Dr. Usha Bhupathi, a graduate of Kakatiya Medical College, pursued postgraduate training in general surgery at Osmania Medical College before moving to the USA in 1975. She completed her residency and fellowship in Anatomic Pathology at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, where she served as senior staff from 1980 to 2008. She specialized in breast cancer diagnosis and management, contributing to women’s health as part of the Josephine Ford Cancer Center team.
- Research & Teaching: Dr. Bhupathi coauthored over 40 peer-reviewed publications and 60+ scientific presentations. She participated in NIH-funded research on benign breast disease and conducted workshops to advance medical education.
- Community Involvement: Actively engaged with Detroit’s Indian community, she contributed to organizations like MAPI, TANA, and Bharatiya Temple. She and her husband, Dr. BLN Raju, supported the Global Hunger Project, organizing events for women’s empowerment and poverty alleviation.
