Alluri Sitarama Raju
Raju was born on July 4, 1897 in Pandrangi village in the Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. His mother was from Visakhapatnam and his father was a native of Mogallu, near Bhimavaram, and was an official photographer in the central jail at Rajahmundry. The young Raju lived mainly in Mogallu and was educated in Rajahmundry at the Vullithota Bangarayya school, as well as in Kakinada, Tuni and Ramachandrapuram in the East Godavari district.

Swami Jnanananda
He believed that a synthesis of religion and science would be beneficial to mankind. He also held the view that the practice of yoga and study of science have certain similarities. Basic yogic practices are meant to train a person to gain mastery over the mind and the body. That was, Bhupathiraju Lakshminarasimha Raju, who was later christened Swami Jnanananda by his guru, Swami Purnananda. He went to Germany in 1927 to deliver religious discourses and to get his religious works printed.

Kumaraswamy Raja
Poosapati Sanjeevi Kumaraswamy Raja (1898–1957) was the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu (Madras Presidency), India from 6 April 1949 to 10 April 1952 and Governor of Orissa from 1954 to 1956. He was born in Rajapalayam in Tamil Nadu to Poosapati Sanjeevi Raja. His mother died when he was eight days old. He lost his father when he was three years old. Raja had no brothers and sisters and he was brought up by his grand mother.

Sri Dantuluri Narayana Raju
Sri Dantuluri Narayana Raju is a patriot since his childhood. He played a prominent role in freedom struggle. At the young age of 21 he was the member of Indian National Congress, as a district delegate from south India. He participated in Ahmadabad Indian National Congress conference. We can understand with this, how he has followed Mahatma Gandhi in word and in deed and his patriotic fervor. In the year 1920, he participated in Non co-operation movement with the call for Mahatma Gandhiji’s, the father of our nation.

Col. D. S. Raju
Dr. Datla Satyanarayana Raju,better known as D. S.Raju M.B.B.S , L.R.C.P , M.R.C.S , M.R.C.P (b: 28 August 1904 – d: ) was an Indian Parliamentarian. He is born to Datla Ramachandra Raju at Poduru, West Godavari District in 1904. He was educated at Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam,Guy’s Hospital, London and Chest Clinic, Vienna. He was Permanent Commissioned Officer as Major in the Indian Military from 1934 to 1945. He was founder president of the Medical Education Society in Kakinada.

Chintalapati Murthy Raju
Prominent Gandhian, freedom fighter and educationist par excellence and former Minister Chintalapati Varaprasada Murthy Raju passed away at his residence in Fathepuram in Nidamarru mandal in West Godavari district on Sunday. He was 93. He had been seriously ill for six months till his death. His wife and only son expired long back.

After graduating from Banaras Hindu University and the Madras Institute of Technology he went on to complete his Master’s in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from Michigan State University and the University of Minnesota, USA. After a short stint in American he returned to India and worked for short periods at Caltex Oil Refinery, Orient General Industries and Associated Electrical Industries. Finally, he joined Union Carbide of India and worked with them for 15 years.
